Click “Forgot username or password” on the login page of MyChart in your browser or in the NYU Langone Health app to reset one or both online.

To protect your privacy and keep your health information secure, we automatically log you out of MyChart if we don’t detect any activity for 15 minutes.

We recommend that you log out of your NYU Langone Health MyChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a brief period of time.

If you completed the above steps and still need assistance, contact the Help Desk.

You have multiple sign-in methods for securely logging into MyChart. You can manage these options from Account Settings.

Username and Password:

Your username and password are created when you first sign up for a MyChart account. Even if you enable other login options like passkeys, biometrics, or a passcode, you can always log in with your username and password.

Passkey:

A passkey lets you sign in without a password by using your device’s built-in security, such as your face, fingerprint, or PIN. Passkeys are encrypted digital keys that can be saved in your phone’s password manager, on your desktop computer, or in a security key.

Biometrics (face or fingerprint):

On supported devices, you can use your face or fingerprint (FaceID/TouchID) to quickly log into the MyChart app.

Passcode:

You can set up a numerical passcode from Account Settings. After it’s enabled, you can enter this passcode instead of your full password.

Passkeys are encrypted digital keys that allow you to log into MyChart with your face, fingerprint, or PIN. Add a passkey to your account and next time you log in, choose “Login with Passkey.”

  1. Log into your MyChart account
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Go to "Manage passkeys" at the top of the page

Medical Record

You can update your personal information in the "Account Settings" section of your NYU Langone Health MyChart menu.

To locate appointment notes or your After Visit Summary:

  1. Go to “My Record” in the MyChart menu
  2. Select “Appointments & Visits”

If you have questions about medical terms or other aspects of your care, please contact your provider.

Test results are available in MyChart as soon as they are finalized. Return times vary by test, but you will receive a notification in MyChart when they are posted there. To view results:

  1. Go to “My Record” in the MyChart menu
  2. Select “Test Results”

You may see these results before your provider has had a chance to review them. Please give your care team up to three business days for review

If you do not see an expected test result, please contact the office of the provider who ordered the test.

Your NYU Langone Health MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record. If you feel any information is inaccurate, contact your healthcare provider’s office.

There are different ways to share your health information, whether you want to download records for yourself, share your records with a family member or caregiver, or share temporary access with a healthcare provider outside of NYU Langone:

  1. Go to “Request/Share Records” in the MyChart menu
  2. Select “Share my Record”
  3. Review “Sharing Options”

Scheduling Appointments

In most cases, if you have seen a provider within the last 3 years, you will be able to schedule an appointment with them in NYU Langone Health MyChart.

Not all providers use MyChart scheduling, or they may not have been added to your electronic record yet. If you do not see a provider listed, please call their office to schedule an appointment.

Your primary care provider should always be listed, regardless of time since your last visit.

You can always browse our doctors and schedule an appointment online with a new provider in Find a Doctor.

If you are using MyChart scheduling, go to Find a Doctor under “Schedule Appointment,” to find or request an appointment with a new provider. You can also go to “Find a New Doctor” under “Find Care” in the MyChart menu.

Not all appointment types are available for waitlist. If the waitlist is available, it will appear as an option next to your existing appointment in MyChart.

If you are unable to schedule, or the waitlist option is unavailable in MyChart, the front desk staff at the practice you’re scheduling with can add you to their waitlist.

If an earlier time slot becomes available, you will receive either a MyChart message or a phone call from the practice with an offer to reschedule. After you accept the offer, you will see your appointment rescheduled for the new date and time.

If you have already scheduled an appointment, you can join the waitlist by following these steps:

  1. Go to “Appointments and Visits” in the MyChart menu
  2. Select “Scheduled Appointments”
  3. Under “Upcoming Visits” select the visit you want to be waitlisted for
  4. Under “Prepare for Your Visit” go to “Get on the Wait List”

Contacting Your Care Team in MyChart

In most cases, if you have seen a provider within the last 13 months, you will be able to send them a secure electronic message. But not all providers use MyChart messaging, or they may not have been added to your electronic record yet.

You should always be able to send secure electronic messages to your NYU Langone Health primary care provider, regardless of time since last visit.

If you do not see a provider listed in your account, please call their office.

To locate and send a message to an existing provider, make sure you have selected “Send a Message.” If more than one healthcare organization appears here, select “NYU Langone Health,” then choose either “Schedule an Appointment” or “Question for Your Care Team.”

Most providers respond within two business days. Please do not use MyChart for time sensitive questions or requests. Call your medical provider if you have an urgent question or dial 911 in an emergency.

You should not email your provider with urgent or time-sensitive medical questions. Call your medical provider if you have an urgent question or dial 911 in an emergency. You may message your provider about non-urgent health matters, scheduling, visit follow-ups, test results, referrals, medications, records, and documents.

Proper consent for proxy access depends on the age of the patient. Patients ages 12 and older can consent to give a family member or caregiver access to their MyChart account. For children ages 11 and younger, parents and legal guardians may request proxy access to their child’s health record in MyChart.

To get proxy access, you must first have your own NYU Langone Health MyChart account.
