Account Creation

NYU Langone Health MyChart offers personalized and secure online access to portions of your medical records. It enables you to securely manage and receive information about your health online. With NYU Langone Health MyChart, you can:

  • View portions of your electronic health record.
  • View laboratory and radiology test results.
  • Communicate securely with your provider's office.
  • Request prescription renewals.
  • Update your clinical information online prior to your visit.
  • Access trusted health information resources.
  • Review your billing account summary and pay bills online.
MyChart is a free service offered to NYU Langone patients.
If you are already a patient at NYU Langone Health System, you can request a MyChart account online. If you are not currently an NYU Langone Health Patient, our registration staff can help you enroll in MyChart at your first visit.

Logging into MyChart
Click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

If you do not remember the answer to your security question, please contact us at 866-262-6458. Please supply the following information for verification purposes:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Last four digits of your social security number
Medical Record
You can update your personal information in the "My Account" section of your NYU Langone Health MyChart account.

In the “Test Results” section of your MyChart account, you can see test results, pathology reports, and imaging exam reports as soon as they are available.

Because you’re getting this information immediately, your provider may not have had a chance to review your test results yet. Some of these results may be difficult to understand, and others may appear to indicate that you have a serious condition. Please talk to your provider if you do not want your results released immediately.

Your care team may reach out to you if there are any areas of concern with your test results. If you have questions about your results, you can message your provider.

Certain laboratory tests of a sensitive nature are not automatically released only to NYU Langone Health MyChart, and are released at your provider's discretion. If you do not see an expected test result, please contact your physician's office to request that these results be released to your MyChart account.
Your NYU Langone Health MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor's office. If you feel that any of the information contained in your record is inaccurate, please talk with your healthcare provider.
Most, but not all, NYU Langone Health System providers use MyChart to exchange secure electronic messages with patients. Please check with your provider's office if you do not see him or her listed in your account.
You will generally receive a reply within two business days. Please note that NYU Langone Health MyChart should not be used for urgent matters. Please contact your medical provider if you have an urgent question, or dial 911 if you are experiencing an emergency
Scheduling an Appointment Using NYU Langone Health MyChart
Many, but not all, NYU Langone providers use MyChart for online appointment scheduling. If you don't see your provider listed, please contact the office by phone to make an appointment.
At this time, you can only make appointments in MyChart with doctors you have previously seen.
You can easily manage the communications that you receive from NYU Langone in the Notifications section of your NYU Langone Health MyChart account. If you do not have a MyChart account, our staff Can help you opt out by calling 866-262-6458, Monday - Friday from 8am - 6pm.
Family Access to NYU Langone Health MyChart

Yes, with proper consent, a family member or caregiver may be granted access to a patient's NYU Langone Health MyChart account through the “Share MyChart Access” feature. The patient can determine whether a family member or caregiver has full access to their MyChart account or limited access to the scheduling, messaging, and billing features. To share access to someone’s MyChart account, you must have your own NYU Langone Health MyChart account set up.

Parents or guardians of patients age 11 and younger can also request access to their child's NYU Langone Health MyChart account—this is full access to the account in all cases. Access to a child's account will automatically end on the child's 12th birthday.

Patients age 12 to 17 with an active NYU Langone Health MyChart account may choose to share access to their account with a parent or guardian. This access will automatically end on the patient's 18th birthday, at which time the patient may reconsent to provide shared access to the account.

Patients aged 12 and older may revoke proxy access to their account at any time by accessing the Family Access Settings page in their MyChart account. Should a patient wish to re-establish proxy access to their account at a later date, a new consent form will need to be filed at their next visit to NYU Langone.
Unfortunately, no. NYU Langone Health MyChart offers direct access to your own personal health record. All communications sent from your NYU Langone Health MyChart account are logged in your record. Therefore, communications about another individual's information would be placed in your health record instead of your family member's, which could potentially jeopardize your medical care.
No. Due to the sensitive nature of medical information, you each must establish separate accounts. However proxy access for adults is designed to ease the responsibility of overseeing health care for another adult, such as an elderly parent, spouses, and partners.
Safety & Security
We take great care to ensure that your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information in MyChart is protected through the use of secure access codes, personal usernames, and passwords. NYU Langone Health MyChart also uses the latest technology to automatically encrypt your session. And, unlike conventional email, all messaging through NYU Langone Health MyChart is done while you are securely logged into our website.
NYU Langone Health MyChart is owned and operated by NYU Langone Health MyChart and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and email address will be treated with the same care and privacy given to your health records, and will never be sold or leased by NYU Langone Health MyChart.
We aim to protect your privacy and the security of your information. While logged into NYU Langone Health MyChart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of your account. We recommend that you log out of your NYU Langone Health MyChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.
Online Billing
Yes. All payments are made through a secure third-party company called Trust Commerce. Trust Commerce protects your information with a system called "Point-to-Point Encryption." This replaces your credit card number with an electronic "token" when you sign on.
Currently, this is not supported. MyChart does however store your credit card information on our secure server for future use. If you want to make a payment, just go to the Billing tab, then Billing Summary and click on PAY to pay your balance. You will be asked to enter your billing and credit card information. When you are done entering the information, click on SAVE CREDIT CARD FOR FUTURE USE on the bottom of the screen. Now anytime you need to make a payment, instead of having to re-enter card information, you can just click on the stored credit card on the bottom of the screen and enter your security code to continue to submit the payment.
Yes. You can use MyChart to make payments for your Hospital bill. You can also use MyChart to make payments to providers who are active in the MyChart system. If you are not sure if your provider uses NYU Langone Health MyChart, please contact their office staff for confirmation. Co-payments and pre-service deposits can be paid using MyChart, however, most offices will request that such payments be made at the time of your visit.
No. If you do not wish to pay online, you can continue making payments by mail or over the phone.
Mobile Access
Yes. Access to MyChart is available via the NYU Langone Health mobile application for your Apple© or Android™ device. You must have an existing NYU Langone Health MyChart username and password to use the application. Download the NYU Langone Health app in the App Store or on Google Play. If you need assistance downloading the app, please contact our support team at 866-262-6458.
Yes. To ensure that your health information is kept private and secure, no sensitive data is stored on your phone's memory. To access your medical record, you must log-in each time with your username and password - just as you would from a computer.
